2020 Sale Report
REGISTERED bidders from across the nation competed for 228 lots at the 46th annual Ray White Equine Dalby Stock Horse Sale, with sales under the hammer totalling more than $2,450,000, culminating in a clearance rate of 86 per cent.
In a year like no other with COVID-19 restrictions, 1,500 people were allowed to attend, with more than 900 entering via the gates.
NASCO had come onboard providing live streaming throughout the weekend, with horse pre-works and online bidding. The incentive campdraft was also live streamed for the first time ever this year thanks to Ray White Nasco.
The top priced stallion - Lot 120 Mr Duck - was sold by vendor Mr M Crane and was purchased by Hall and Van Den Heever for $75,000.
The top priced mare - Lot 56 Cedargrove Con D Lisa - was sold by vendor Cedar Grove ASH Stud and was purchased for $50,000 by Sundry Buyer.
The top priced gelding - Lot 133 Derowie Ambition - was sold by vendor CJL Performance Horses and was purchased by Jim Lyons Agency Pty Ltd for $30,000.
Ray White Rural CEO Stephen Nell said the network support came from far and wide to ensure the success of the event – a real testament given the COVID-19 challenges.
“I can’t tell you how much work has gone in by the whole team – despite the obstacles – to ensure this important event went ahead safely and without a hitch,” Mr Nell said.
“Ray White Rural Dalby only took this sale on earlier in the year and what a tremendous amount of effort it has taken given the challenges they faced and to whether COVID-19 would even allow the event to happen.
“Humbling just isn't a big enough word to describe our network. We have a fantastic line-up of young auctioneers who took to the stage this year and I can't imagine this event happening with any other network.”
Ray White Rural Dalby Principal David Felsch paid tribute to his team, the wider team, and thanked all the stakeholders in making the event a success.
“It’s amazing - what a sale. It was just so strong given the COVID-19 struggles, to not know whether we were even going to have a sale just a few months out from the event, and then achieving these results just blows me away,” Mr Felsch said.
“Thank you to the Darling Downs Stockhorse Society. Their drive and support for the sale is fantastic – and thank you to the vendors for nominating for the 2020 sale and trusting us with their horses.
“Thank you too to Fucheng Woodlands, they have donated cattle for the last three years and without their sponsorship, the event couldn't go ahead so it is greatly appreciated.
“Lastly, it's the Ray White network and staff that help us commit to improving the sale year in and year out. The support is overwhelming.”
The Ray White Rural Team would like to thank all vendors, purchasers and under-bidders for their support of the 2020 sale. We hope to see you all back at the 2021 sale as a part of the Incentive Campdraft program with great prize money up for grabs.
